Planning for the future: Why we need full-day kindergarten

While walking door to door yesterday I met a single mother of three struggling to provide for her family, raise her kids and better herself through education. Her oldest child, entering kindergarten this year, was just accepted to the full-day program at the local elementary school and is well on his way to becoming a bright student.

Faculty and retirees endorse David

Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce endorsement

I received news today that the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce has endorsed my candidacy for Nevada Assembly District 24. I’m proud of the recognition of my campaign for stronger representation and change this endorsement represents.

Running all the way to November

Man what a day! Up at the crack of dawn for the 2006 Reno Gazette-Journal Journal Jog, and then campaigning door to door for the campaign the rest of the day. Balloon race report

Big thanks to Ginnie Kersey for helping us out at the Reno Balloon Races this past weekend. Here’s a picture of pilot Russ James and Japanese exchange student Hide getting ready to lift off Saturday morning in the David Bobzien balloon.
