Thoughts tonight for Kathy Augustine’s family

Waiting for the Parks Commission meeting to begin tonight, a few of us around the table talked soberly about Kathy Augustine being in the hospital. “So young”, “so scary that it could happen to any of us”, and “I can’t believe something like that could happen so suddenly” we’re just a few of the sentiments we shared.

I hear this question a lot- from folks along the Fourth of July parade route, to people I meet who have seen our signs or heard about the campaign.

Lisa and I woke this morning to our favorite NPR voices reading us the Declaration of Independence. The goose bumps were well formed as we hopped out of bed, put the coffee on and commenced with our last minute prep for the Independence Day parade downtown.
