Community meetings to focus on methamphetamine crisis
Recognizing the frightening impact on our community, a series of town hall meetings to build awareness about the crisis is being held.
According to a study from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Nevada ranked among the top of Western states for methamphetamine use based on the percentage of people age 12 or older who had used meth in the past year. From the RGJ:
‘The message is that we can get better,’ [Assemblywoman Sheila] Leslie said. ‘It may be No. 1 today, but it doesn’t have to be forever. We can’t afford to do nothing while meth destroys our community.’
Community Awareness Meetings
All begin at 6:30 p.m.
