The Latest on Medicare Part D

Are you a Medicare beneficiary? Do you have parents who have prescription drug needs? Then you’ve probably heard of Medicare Part D, the new federal prescription drug plan that begins on January 1st.

The television show Nevada Newsmakers had a wonderful program today covering the complicated choices seniors face regarding these benefits and how best to access them. Where is District 24?

When I first started talking with friends and family about my running for office, the common question was “where is District 24 exactly?” I’ve gotten pretty creative in my explanations, describing how the district wraps around Peavine, follows part of McCarran, etc., but what most of them wanted was a good map. Happy Thanksgiving!

I wish you and your family a relaxing and delicious Thanksgiving! After I finish up a few more e-mails, I’m going to shut the computer off for the rest of the day, put in a call to my mom and dad back in Virginia, help Lisa get some food ready, and then head over to her mom’s house for Thanksgiving dinner.

Just in time, an article on weblogs and Nevada politics

Just as Sara and I launch this weblog, Anjeanette Damon’s over at the Reno Gazette-Journal penning a story on weblogs and politics: “Bloggers poised to be players on state’s campaign landscape”.

Greetings

Hello! My name is Sara and I will be working with David on his campaign for Nevada Assembly District 24.

Why a weblog?

Two values I bring to this campaign are openness and accountablility. To put these values into action requires communication, communication between all of us as citizens of District 24. Whether you live off of Stead Boulevard, on Kings Row or Montello, you deserve a voice in the decisions made every two years by the Legislature down in Carson City.

Testing… 1… 2… 3… Hello? Is this thing on?

My name is David Bobzien, and I’m running for Nevada Assembly District 24.

In 1997, I chose to make Nevada my home and never once have I regretted it. Working in the information technology field, I’m excited by the positive developments I’ve seen in our state’s strong economy, and I have faith in our ability to continue to grow in new and exciting directions.
